MANDELLO DEL LARIO – It’s been the most special Saturday night ever at Villa Lario, the enchanting Lake Como location chosen by Euro-Toques International as the Expo Relais in Mandello del Lario to host Royal families and international authorities during Milan Expo 2015.
Many political authorities, important names of Italian gastronomy and local athletes took part to the official opening celebration, such as Mr Gualtiero Marchesi (Honorary President of Euro-Toques), Mr Mauro Parolini (Alderman for Tourism, Trade and Services in Regione Lombardia), Mr Antonio Rossi (Alderman for Sport and Youth Policy in Regione Lombardia), the Mayor of Mandello del Lario Mr Riccardo Mariani, Mr Carlo Tavecchio (President of the Italian Soccer Federation), Giulia Arena (Miss Italy 2013), the actress and showgirl Randi Ingermann, the stylist Antonio Riva and the singer Davide Van de Sfroos.
The guests enjoyed an exclusive dinner, the first official one at Villa Lario, offered by Euro-Toques International and the famous chef Enrico Derflingher, who worked at the British Royal House at the age of only 27.
In the next six months, during Expo 2015, Villa Lario will house some important events related to art and charity, in collaboration with Renato Missaglia and Gianni Arosio. The first one exhibits inside the Villa some of the 70 portraits for the project “Cuochi a Colori”, showing the most renowned European chefs, including Marchesi and Derflingher. Moreover, the Villa will house six more paintings for the project “Donna selvaggia che scavalica le colline”, in which several female figures have been included within some of the historic homes of the Expo. The tables by Gianni Arosio, however, will be the protagonists of a charity auction sponsored by Cino Tortorella for Slowfood (“10,000 vegetable gardens in Africa”).
